Everybody Eats and Koha Apparel both believe community is an essential human need. Nick provides a pay-what-you-can dining experience, and Charli does the same with high quality clothes. They believe no one should have to live without enjoying kai, or dressing in threads that make them feel good.
They aren’t my usual guests on the couch. Nick thinks he is left-brain dominant, and we talk a lot about business and customers and staff. But both Charli and Nick have collaborated on creative solutions to systemic problems.
We talk about food, and school, and why Charli hasn’t purchased clothing in three years. Nick denies the label of a hero, and Charli tells us about her big move to Wellington.
