Hahko Meets Chelsea Jade
Instagram is functionally inauthentic & serves only as a socially acceptable playground for our rampant ego’s, supported by our shared complicity in the charade and controlled by the rewards earned under a capitalist perversion of social currency.
And yet here we are, Chelsea Jade & I, both imbued with passionate critiques of modern systems and hours of Noam Chomsky under our belts, exploiting our own thoughts on the worlds of music, philosophy and Britney Spears for content and clout.
This was a conversation focused on big ideas like art, media narrative & economic insecurity, explored through the lens of a genuinely thoughtful, relatable, open and honest soul in the physical form of a New Zealand born, LA based, songwriter and multimedia artist named Chelsea Jade.
We also talked about Spotify payouts, the reality of session songwriting, how to pronounce Levyne, and the emotional landscape of a working musician. And in the spirit of attempting something resembling authenticity on the hell hole of an app, this conversation was invigorating and heartwarming and I can’t wait to talk with Chelsea again.
Thanks to Poynton for hosting us, Benji for his hard work producing & to you for listening
