Hahko Meets Oscar Davies-Kay
It was a real pleasure to sit down with someone who has both produced some of my favourite music & always been a kind, generous figure every time i’ve interacted with him.
Oscar is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, dad and purveyor of beer history who has released music as part of bands Rackets and Water, while being a constant source of energy on camera and live on show.
He is also a mature, open guy that connects so easily its disarming, and one cannot help but be pulled into a hurricane of wise words, silliness and honesty.
Our conversation was marauding and expansive. I found it intoxicating and was so immersed in conversation with Oscar that we completely skipped the intro and dove right in. We talk about Rackets, touring 51 NZ towns with Alizarin Lizard, experimenting with micro-dosing, the complexity of human relationships, the importance of knowing yourself, the history of Schnapps, and the importance of conversations just like this.
And somehow I feel we barely scratched the surface. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I enjoyed having it.
Oscar asked for this episode to be dedicated to Reuben Winters, so this one’s for you dude.
