Is Leaping Tiger the coolest artist in NZ? Quite possibly.
It was great having Jacob come on to the podcast this week. On one side he is an exciting new artist blending genres, pushing the limits of live electronic sets & pulling inspiration from many different artists that I also connect to.
On the other side he’s almost infuriatingly cool, consistently well dressed, smooth talking and disarmingly charming. It’s a heavy combo.
It was an incredibly fun conversation, filled with the discovery of artist after artist that have inspired us, from Toro y Moi to Skrillex & everything in between. We bro-down over Jon Hopkins set at Laneway, discuss Apple Music vs Spotify and make the case for replacing ‘entertainer’ radio hosts with musicians who actually like music. Preferably Leaping Tiger himself if you ask me!
